English Translation of Steel Plant Biomass Gasifier Application
In 2025, a medium-sized steel enterprise in Shandong Province, in response to the "dual carbon" strategy and to reduce costs and increase efficiency, introduced our company's vertical biomass gasifier, which is applied to the steel billet melting furnace process. It has successfully realized the full replacement of natural gas with biomass gas and completed the transformation to clean energy consumption.
The steel billet melting furnace of the plant needs to stably maintain a heating temperature of 1200℃, which has strict requirements on the calorific value and purity of the gas. Previously, it relied on natural gas for energy supply. Affected by price fluctuations, the energy consumption cost was relatively high, and there was great pressure on carbon emissions, so an environmentally friendly and economical alternative energy solution was urgently needed.
After multiple rounds of demonstration, the plant selected our company's vertical biomass gasifier and its supporting multi-level purification system. The equipment covers a small area and has stable gas production, which is suitable for the layout of the steel plant; the purification system can effectively remove impurities such as dust and tar in the gas, ensure the cleanliness of the gas, and avoid affecting production.
During operation, the equipment can process a variety of biomass raw materials, which is consistent with the local resource advantages in Shandong and reduces the cost of raw materials. The purified biomass gas has a stable calorific value, which can accurately meet the production demand of 1200℃, ensure that the quality of steel billets meets the standard, and there are no unqualified products caused by heat source problems.
This application not only realized the replacement of natural gas, but also significantly reduced the annual energy consumption cost, while reducing carbon emissions and pollutant emissions, helping the enterprise meet environmental protection requirements and providing practical reference for the low-carbon transformation of the steel industry.
